A follow-up to the visit to the coastal area in 2 (two) villages in Bengkalis Regency, namely Buruk Bakul Village and Kelapa Pati Village, was the implementation of training for the mangrove observer group for the two villages. This training activity is a series of efforts to save and conserve the mangrove ecosystem area, which is an important part of the coastal area that has significant ecological and economic roles. Mangroves provide habitats for various species, protect the coastline from erosion, and become a source of livelihood for coastal communities.

Community-based mangrove management is an effective strategy to ensure the sustainability and sustainable use of this ecosystem. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the community's capacity through training that provides knowledge and skills in mangrove management.

This training presents Experts in Mangrove Ecology and Coastal Area Management and Experts in Mapping and Coastal Resource Management. The training process begins with an explanation of the material related to the good values and potential found in the mangrove ecosystem and the factors that become threats to damage in the coastal area. Understanding the spatial area is also important knowledge for the group to design and create long-term activities for the group to prioritize activities.

One of the participants is doing mangrove planting in a transect practice

About 40 training participants were divided into 3 groups for field practice, where each group conducted research to observe and record events or certain objects along the lines or straight lines that had been determined within the mangrove area in Kelapa Pati Village. The training participants measured the distribution or looked at the types of plants that were scattered in the transect area. This practice aims to record tree species, diameter, and height to determine the structure of the mangrove forest, and the data will be analyzed to produce data that can be used for the group's needs in carrying out activities.

Analysis of field findings is also carried out with a technological and informational approach, this aims to make it easier for the group to analyze and present data by utilizing the development of information technology.
