Evidence for action
Data, Research, and GIS
Turning field data, research, and spatial analysis into usable information for planning, monitoring, and decision-making.
Mapping action, documenting change
This program aims to ensure that each action is supported by reliable, traceable, and fit-for-purpose evidence while protecting sensitive operational and partner data.
Focus areas
- Field-data standards, unique object identifiers, location information, and metadata.
- Validation, duplicate detection, source documentation, and quality control.
- Geographic information systems, mapping, monitoring, and visualisation.
- Collaborative research, knowledge products, and public information.
How we work and what we track
Each dataset records its source, date, coverage, method, and limitations. Information is published only after review and validation, while public and internal access are separated according to sensitivity. System quality is tracked through completeness, timeliness, validation status, spatial coverage, revision history, and use in program decisions.
Examples from Yayasan Gambut
The YG GeoPortal presents program-intervention maps, mangrove monitoring, profiles of working areas, a social forestry directory, and fire-weather and hotspot information. Analyses containing sensitive operational or partner data remain within controlled internal access.
